“My Chronicle Book Box is a unique reading box curated in the UK every three months containing the latest literary releases from your chosen genre and a selection of beautifully crafted associated items, exclusive to My Chronicle whenever possible.”
It’s time for another fabulous My Chronicle Book Box unboxing! I love getting these boxes and if you’re on the look out for a subscription book box then I can’t recommend them enough. You can pick from the crime and mystery box (which I have) or the sci-fi and fantasy box. You can also choose from receiving a one-off box or signing up for a full subscription. To tempt you even more you can use my code – EBC10 – for a discount on your first order! The next boxes are due in August, visit the website to sign up here. If you need a little more convincing then read on to see what these gorgeous blue boxes have inside.
First up let’s look at the books. As always, the blue box features three (yes, that’s THREE) books and each book comes individually wrapped, which I feel makes the whole unboxing experience more personal and special. May’s featured books are:
The Man With No Face by Peter May. This edition is a signed hardback. I am a huge Peter May fan so I can’t wait to read this one!
A REPORTER WITH NO FEAR
1979. Jaded Edinburgh journalist Neil Bannerman is sent to Europe, intent on digging up dirt. Yet it is danger he discovers, when two British men are found murdered.
A CHILD WITH NO FATHER
One victim is a journalist, the other a Cabinet Minister: the double-assassination witnessed by the former’s autistic daughter. This girl recalls every detail about her father’s killer – except for one.
THE MAN WITH NO FACE
With those around him rocked by the tragedy, Bannerman is compelled to follow his instincts. He is now fighting to expose a murderous conspiracy, protect a helpless child, and unmask a remorseless killer.
Keep Her Close by MJ Ford. This paperback edition is signed and is a fantastic sounding police procedural novel. I haven’t read anything by MJ Ford before so I’m excited to discover a new author.
When a young woman goes missing from Jesus College, Oxford, DS Josie Masters is plunged into a world of panic as fear grips the city. Along with Thames Valley Police’s newest recruit, the handsome DS Pryce, Josie must act fast – and when two more students disappear from Oriel and Somerville colleges, she realises the killer is sending her a deadly message in a cruel game of cat and mouse. This time, the case is personal – but who is the perpetrator?
In a desperate race against the clock, Josie hunts for the kidnapper, and soon discovers he could be a lot closer to home than she’d ever thought…
To Catch A Killer by Emma Kavanagh. This paperback edition is accompanied by a signed postcard and the book sounds utterly creepy, I can’t wait!
I’ve been watching you DS Alice Parr.
I saw you trying to save the poor young woman you found in the park.
The woman I tried to kill.
I’ve been waiting for you to find her family. To find someone who cares about her.
But you can’t can you?
You’ve never had a case like this.
I know everything about you. You know nothing about me.
Even though I’m the man you’re looking for.
And you will never catch me…
All three authors have also given My Chronicle Book Box exclusive interviews which feature in the box too. I adore reading these little extras.
Not only do I now have three shiny new books to add to my ever-growing-towering to be read mountain, I also have a selection of superb bookish themed treats.
An exclusive tea towel inspired by Agatha Christie, which obviously I will never use as it’s too nice but will proudly display.
An incredibly cute book lover coaster which I adore! Again I will never use it for it’s intended purpose but it will make a fantastic adornment on my book shelves! This coaster is produced by Ustudio.
A typewriter postcard designed by Laura at Carbon Copy Print House. I think vintage typewriters are a thing of beauty so naturally, I love this postcard. And it can also be used as a book mark – bonus.
There was also a little bonus sampler from Tidelands, the first book in a new series by Philippa Gregory.
Once again, My Chronicle Book Box has smashed it! It is always such a joy to get a new box and hopefully my unboxing has tempted you to subscribe. Make sure you follow My Chronicle Book Box in all the usual places:
